Ambres, Figueroa lead Herd

The Bisons offense was feeling Chipper at McCoy Stadium. Former Paw Sox and now Buffalo outfielder Chip Ambres knocked in all three runs in the victory with his sixth and seventh homeruns of the season, his third and fourth since being traded from Pawtucket.

The Buffalo Bisons, Triple-A affiliate of the New York Mets, knocked off the Pawtucket Red Sox 3-1 Thursday. It was the first game of a brief two game series.

Nelson Figueroa was outstanding once again on the mound. He tossed eight innings allowing three hits. He allowed one run, walked one and struck out nine. The K total ties a season high. The all-star also picked up the win, his fifth straight winning decision.
