Pen preserves Bisons win

TO SUM IT UP: The Bisons bullpen tossed 5.1 scoreless to preserve Buffalo’s 2-1 win over Pawtucket on Sunday afternoon…  Starter Boof Bonser left the game mid-at-bat against the ‘Sox Nate Spears and turned the game over to the pen… Jose De La Torre punched out three over 1.2 and became the pitcher of record to earn his second win… Ryota Igarashi finished the game to earn his first save of the year, retiring all four batters (two strikeouts) he faced.

FAST FACTS: Both Buffalo wins are unconventional courtesy of the opposing pitchers, the Bisons won in the 13th Friday on a wild-pitch and a passed ball allowed the eventual winning run to score in the 4th Sunday versus Pawtucket… De La Torre has been the pitcher of record in both of Buffalo’s wins… Nick Evans collected two of the Bisons’ hits in the game… Justin Turner extended his hit streak to all four games… Turner extended his streak with a 1st inning triple, he had only one  triple in 2010 that was hit on the final day of the season (part of a 6-6, hit for the cycle day)… Ruben Tejada was held hitless for the first time this year but did reach base…. Kirk Nieuwenhuis walked all three times at the plate… 16 of the 19 runs surrendered have scored with two-outs…  Buffalo bounced into three double-plays in the loss…
