Radio: WWKB AM 1520,

TODAY’S GAME: This afternoon, the Bisons host the Indianapolis Indians in the final game of a four-game series at Coca-Cola Field (1:05 p.m.). The Herd needs a win today to earn a split of the four-game series with Indy. Buffalo is 3-4 so far on an eight-game homestand that began with a four-game split with Lehigh Valley. The Bisons open up an eight-game roadtrip tomorrow in Gwinnett.

vs. THE INDIANS: Today is the final contest between the Bisons and the Indians this season. Indy won the season series as they are ahead 5-2 heading into today’s finale. Even with a win today, the Bisons can earn just a split of the four-game set in Buffalo. That means the Herd is still without a series victory in their last 12 four-game sets against Indianapolis.

ROLLING STONE: RHP TOBI STONER dominated the Indians in a start at Victory Field on May 8. Stoner struck out a season-high eight batters and allowed just one run in six innings as the Bisons defeated Indy, 4-3.

ROSTER MOVE: OF JORGE PADILLA makes his first Bisons start today after being acquired by the Mets yesterday. Padilla hit .330 (61-185) with four homers and 27RBI in 50 games for the Toronto’s Triple-A affiliate in Las Vegas. Last year, Padilla led all full season minor leagues over the first four months of the season with a .367 (114-311) average with Syracuse. Promoted to Washington on August 5, 2009, Padilla fell just 38 plate appearances shy of winning the International League’s batting championship last season.

HOLY THOLE: C JOSH THOLE enters today’s game on a six-game hit streak during which he has averaged .500 (10-20). With four walks, he has also reached base at least twice in each of the last six contests. Since May 18, the catcher has averaged .418 (28-67) with nine multi-hit performances in 21 games.

NOTHING PETTY: LHP ADAM PETTYJOHN has made six consecutive scoreless appearances for the Herd. The 8.1 inning stretch is tied for the longest by a Bisons reliever this season. During the stretch, the southpaw has allowed just three hits while striking out 12 batters. On the season, Pettyjohn has held lefty hitters to just three hits in 47 at-bats (.064) with 17 strikeouts.

METS UPDATE: The Mets (39-29) fell to the Yankees yesterday, 5-3. The defeat snapped New York’s eight-game winning streak. INF JOSE REYES hit a pair of home runs in the loss. RHP MIKE PELFREY pitched seven innings in just his second loss of the season. The Mets take on their Subway Series rivals again today at 1:05 p.m. in the rubber-match of their three-game series from Yankees Stadium.
