TODAY’S GAME: Tonight, the Buffalo Bisons face the Louisville Bats in the third game of a four-game series from Louisville Slugger Field (7:05 p.m.). The Herd has lost the first two games of the series by scores of 5-1 and 5-2. After tomorrow night’s series finale, the Bisons will continue their eight-game roadtrip in Indianapolis with a four-game set with the Indians.
vs. THE BATS: The Bisons fell to 2-4 against Louisville this year after last night’s loss. The teams split a four-game set in Buffalo, April 30 – May 3. The Herd lost the season-series a year ago, 5-3. The Herd has a .532 winning percentage (50-44) against Louisville since returning to the IL in 1998.
SNYDER GETS THE START: RHP Kyle Snyder is set to toss today for the Herd. The versatile-veteran has been shuffled between the rotation and the bullpen all year. Snyder has worked in relief in his last eight appearances, posting a solid 2.76ERA in 16.1 innings of work (17H, 11K). One of his five starts on the year was against Louisville. Snyder fell in defeat in the second game of a doubleheader on May 2 after allowing two runs in four innings.
INSTANT OFFENSE: After being promoted to the Herd yesterday from Binghamton (AA), OF Josh Petersen had a terrific debut with the Bisons going 2-4 with two doubles and a run scored. In 57 games with the B-Mets, Petersen hit .326 (59-181) with three home runs and 27RBI. In his last 25 games, the outfielder has hit .379 (33-87) for Binghamton. Petersen played nine games for Triple-A New Orleans last year, hitting .200 (3-15) with three RBI.
KEEPING A HOT BAT: OF Jesus Feliciano collected another pair of singles and notched an RBI on Tuesday to raise his season batting average to .313. He is now 6th in the International League in hitting and 4th in total hits (98). Feliciano is on pace for 153 hits on the year, which would be the sixth highest total in the Bisons Modern Era.
GETTIN’ CHIPPY: OF Chip Ambres is one of the hottest hitters in the Bisons lineup. The veteran is now hitting .393 (11-28) in his last seven games. During the stretch, Ambres has four doubles, two home runs, six RBI and five runs scored.
