Abreu's blast lifts Bisons
Nelson Figueroa did pitching and off the bench, Michel Abreu provided the power in the Bisons 2-1 win over Indianapolis on Monday morning.
Over 15,000 were brought to their feet when Abreu’s blast left the bat to give Buffalo the come from behind win.
The Bisons pen combined to throw the final two scoreless innings and have allowed just one earned run in the last 9 1/3 in the series. Elmer Dessens picked up the save in the final two-thirds of the ninth, converting his eighth in the last eight chances. Wily Mo Pena was lifted mid-at-bat in the fourth inning after back spasms halted his game and hit streak at 13 straight games.
Buffalo can earn the split with a win on Tuesday night. Brandon Knight faces Daniel McCutchen to close out the series at 7:05 p.m. from Coca-Cola Field.
