TODAY’S GAME: Tonight, the Buffalo Bisons take on the Pawtucket Red Sox in the first game of a four-game series from McCoy Stadium (6:05 p.m.). The Bisons are coming off a split of a four-game series with Gwinnett and a split of an eight-game homestand. After these four games in Pawtucket, the Bisons will return to Buffalo for another eight-game homestand.
vs PAWSOX: The Bisons are 1-3 against Pawtucket this season after the Red Sox won a season-opening series at Coca-Cola Field, April 9-12. Last season, Buffalo won the final four times they visited McCoy Stadium and have won 10 of their last 16 games in Pawtucket dating back to 2007.
ON THE SNYD: INF Kyle Snyder will be making his third consecutive start for the Bisons. The veteran made his first six appearances of the year out of the Herd’s bullpen. In his first two starts, Snyder has posted a 2.25ERA with only five hits allowed in eight innings. Last Saturday, Snyder allowed just an unearned run on one hit in four innings of work against Norfolk.
DYNAMIC DEBUT: C Javier Valentin made quite the Bisons debut in Game 1 of yesterday’s doubleheader. Valentin homered in his first Buffalo at-bat. He was the first Bisons player to homer in their first at-bat with the team since OF Jason Dubios accomplished the feat, August 7, 2005 in Pawtucket. Valentin went on to go 2-2 with two walks in his first game as a Bison.
IN LIKE A LAMB: INF Mike Lamb has matched a Bisons’ season-high with his six-game hit streak. Since May 10, the veteran has averaged .348 (8-23) with four doubles, three RBI and four runs scored. OF Jesus Feliciano owns the other Bisons six-game streak, when he hit .476 (10-21) from April 29 to the first game of a May 6 doubleheader.
