Birds trim Herd

Cooper1.jpgThe Buffalo Bisons, Triple-A affiliate of the New York Mets, were defeated by the Memphis Redbirds, 2-1, Friday afternoon from Port St. Lucie, FL.

Long-time Bison Jason Cooper scored the Herd’s only run. The outfielder was 1-2 on the day, scoring on a doubleplay off the bat of first baseman David Wabick. Outfielder Fernando Martinez finished the game 1-4 while third baseman Shawn Bowman was 2-3. Buffalo pounded out 12 hits in the loss.

On the mound, RHP Ryan Coultas, LHP Edward Camacho and RHP John Madden all pitched two innings of scoreless baseball.

The Bisons are now 0-1-1 in their 11-game exhibition schedule.

Is there anywhere to get the box scores for these spring training games? doesn’t seem to be keeping them.
