One, to get it done
The Bisons needed only one run to earn their Thursday afternoon win over Norfolk. After scoreless baseball through the first five innings, Luis Rivera plated the Bisons lone run on Jesus Feliciano’s RBI single.
After Brandon Knight’s outing was cut short due to a 1:12 rain delay, Kyle Snyder, Jon Switzer and Elmer Dessens combined to preserve the shutout – the Bisons first of the season.
The Bisons pitching staff also faced just two over the minimum in the winning performance.
Wily Mo Pena extended his Bisons-best hit streak to 11-games with a leadoff single in the second inning. Feliciano had a pair of hits to extend his hit streak to six games. Dessens earned the save, he’s 7-for-7 in consecutive save opportunities. Luis Rivera, called up from high-A St. Lucie is 3-5 since arriving to the club.
