A round of applause roared in the Bisons clubhouse after Wednesday’s game.
It was for 26-year old Josh Satin, who learned he will be a major league rookie on Thursday. With the major league rosters expanding on Thursday, September 1st, there’s room in New York for infielder Josh Satin.
Bisons manager Tim Teufel said postgame on Wednesday that Satin will be promoted to the Mets on September 1st. Satin will join former Bisons pitcher Josh Stinson in the first round of call-ups to the major leagues.
It’s the first time in the big leagues for Satin, who is having a breakout season in the Mets organization. New York’s 25th round pick in the 2007 draft has combined to hit .323 (156-483) with 42 doubles, two triples, 12 home runs and 76RBI in 132 games between Double-A Binghamton and the Bisons.
