Spring sounds
The New York Mets opened Grapefruit League action this week. Three former Bisons – Daniel Murphy, Josh Thole and R.A. Dickey – are hoping to help lead the Mets with each earning more definitive roles leading into the new season.
Daniel Murphy had his 2010 season end at second base at Coca-Cola Field last June. But the hard-working infielder is back from a season-ending knee injury and is looking to win a job with the Mets.
Former Bisons catcher Josh Thole was an early arrival at Mets Spring Training in Port St. Lucie, FL. The backstop is looking forward to a new season and building on his big league experience in 2010.
Former Bisons pitcher R.A. Dickey doesn’t wait until the ballpark opens to start his workout. The knuckleballer uses two wheels, not four, to get to work.
Interviews arranged and distributed by the New York Mets.
