vs. RED WINGS: he Bisons are 3-2 this season against their closest rivals. The teams split a two-game set in Rochester, April 21-22 and didn’t face each other again until the Herd took two of three on July 1-3 at Coca-Cola Field. The Bisons are 51-46 (.526) all-time at Frontier Field.

‘WING-TIPS ON ROCHESTER…
NO HOME COOKIN’: The Red Wings have lost seven in a row and 12 of their last 13 games at Frontier Field. The last time Rochester lost 12 of 13 at home was June 5-27, 1999 when they lost 14 of 15 games at 1 Morrie Silver Way. The Red Wings have just a 14-28 record at Frontier Field this season which is the worst home record of any team in the International League. The last time Rochester had a losing record at Frontier Field was 2002 when the Red Wings had a 30-41 record.
BREAK ME OFF SOME WINS: The Red Wings have a 32-58 record with three games remaining before the All-Star break. This will be only the fifth time since 1983 that Rochester enters the Triple All-Star break with less than 35 wins. Rochester needs to go 1-1 against Buffalo to avoid having their worst record prior to the All-Star break since 1984 when those Wings went 32-58.
BAD STARTS: The Red Wings starting pitchers have struggled the last 31 games, going 3-18 with a 7.15 ERA. In 146.1 innings of work, the starters allowed 126 runs (118 earned) while allowing 35 home runs. Rochester’s starting pitchers have a 13-45 record with a 5.84 ERA so far this season.
BACK-2-BACK: With a loss Friday, the Red Wings failed to win back-to-back games for the first time since June 10-12 when they won three-in-a-row at Columbus and Toledo. Rochester has won back-to-back games just eight times this season with three of those coming on the road. Rochester has just a 5-21 record since their last back-to-back wins.
IN THE RED: Rochester hasn’t spent a day over .500 since June 3, 2009 (26-25 record). In fact, Rochester only spent six days at the .500 mark from June 4 through the end of the 2009 season (92 games).
SERIES NOTE: The Bisons were just 6-10 against Rochester last season in a back-and-forth rivalry. Neither team won more than two straight in the season series last year. Since returning to the International League in 1998, the Bisons hold the 106-89 series edge, including a 55-43 mark at Coca-Cola Field.
