TODAY’S GAME: Tonight, the Buffalo Bisons face the Indianapolis Indians in the final game of their four-game series from Victory Field (7:00 p.m.). The Herd now leads the series 2-1, after a victory yesterday afternoon, 2-1. Buffalo is now 3-4 on their eight-game roadtrip that began with a 3-1 series loss in Louisville. After the series against Indianapolis, the Bisons return home for a four-game series against Pawtucket, July 28-31.
vs. THE INDIANS: The Bisons are 3-4 against the Indianapolis Indians this year. The Indians took three of four games from the Herd at Coca-Cola Field from June 6-9, while the Bisons can return the favor tonight at Victory Field. The two teams also split the season-series a year ago, 4-4. Tonight’s match-up will be the final game between Buffalo and Indy this year.
ON THE SNYD: RHP Kyle Snyder will make his second straight start for the Herd tonight. The veteran allowed just one run in four innings in Buffalo’s 2-1 win over the Bats on Wednesday. Snyder has made six starts amongst his 25 appearances with the team. As a starter, he has posted a 3.91ERA.
THE HITS KEEP COMING: OF Jesus Feliciano had his sixth three-hit game of the season yesterday and leads the Herd with 27 multi-hit games on the year. The outfielder has hit in 20 of his last 22 games this month, averaging .330 (29-88) with seven doubles, seven RBI and four runs scored. On the season, his 104 hits are good for fourth most in the International League. Feliciano trails a pair of hitters, Gwinnett’s INF Barbaro Canizares and former Bison OF Jordan Brown by six. Overall, his .310 batting average ranks seventh in the IL.
CHART TOPPERS: Along with Feliciano on the IL leaderboards is RHP Nelson Figueroa. The veteran is 3rd in the IL with a 2.42ERA, trailing only Charlotte’s Carlos Torres (2.20) and now Boston Red Sox Clay Buchholz (2.36).
ROAD WARRIOR: INF/OF Nick Evans has collected a hit in all seven games this roadtrip. Since July 20, the slugger has averaged .286 (8-28). Five of the seven hits have gone for extra bases (4 doubles, 1 home run). Since returning to the Bisons on July 11, Evans has averaged .260 (12-46) with four doubles, a home run and four RBI.
