Ollie to start for Friday night
Independence Eve just got a whole lot bigger for Bisons fans. The New York Mets have told the Bisons: Oliver Perez will start in Buffalo on Friday night.
Perez made his third rehabilitation start Sunday with Brooklyn (A) of the New York-Penn League. Perez worked 5.0 innings vs. Hudson Valley, allowed two hits, with one walk and six strikeouts and earned the win in the Cyclones 13-3 triumph and at one point, he retired 15 of 16 batters.
Overall, Perez is 1-2 with a 2.19 ERA in his minor league rehab starts, one each with Buffalo (AAA) of the International League, St. Lucie (A) of the Florida State League and Brooklyn. In 12.1 innings, he’s allowed 12 hits, seven runs, three earned, with seven walks and 14 strikeouts.
