Cora upbeat after rehab
The New York Mets INF Alex Cora joined the Bisons on a major league rehab assignment Friday night. Cora played all nine innings during Buffalo’s 9-3 win in Durham.
Cora was challenged on three infield plays that he had to attempt barehanded plays, picked up two assists and one putout in the game.
At the plate, he went 1-4 (double) and reached twice on a fielder’s choice.
The Mets placed Cora on the disabled list on May 18 with a torn ligament in his right thumb.
Cora has hit .333 (17-51) with four doubles, a triple and four RBI in 26 games with the Mets this year. He last played on May 17 against the San Francisco Giants.
