Mets look to Takahashi
My guess is that Ken Takahashi didn’t need a translator to understand some variation of “You’re going to the Big Leagues” or “Welcome to the Mets.”
Mets.com is reporting the veteran reliever was added to the 40-man and the big leagues rosters an hour after the Mets’ 8-1 loss to the Nationals and after the club designated left-handed reliever Casey Fossum for assignment.

Takahashi has appeared in six games with the Mets’ Triple-A Buffalo affiliate, producing a 0.77 ERA in 11 2/3 innings. He allowed 10 hits and six walks and struck out nine.
Fossum had appeared in three games with the Mets, including their loss on Sunday.
